Now in its second year, this informative conference was developed by the University of Miami School of Business Administration and School of Architecture. Moderated by Neisen Kasdin, Office Managing Shareholder and former mayor of Miami Beach, the first panel, Game-Changing Real Estate Developers, featured: Craig Robins, CEO and President, Dacra, currently developing the Miami Design District and attracting upscale stores and restaurants to the area; Yaromir Steiner, CEO, Steiner and Associates, who developed Coconut Grove’s Cocowalk at a time when a vertical, street-facing project with movie theaters in the third floor was deemed impossible —but has proven to be a master prototype for other markets in the U.S.
The second panel —U.S. Commercial Real Estate Markets: A View from Home and Abroad— presented global real estate investors and lenders who provided their unique insights on the nation’s commercial real estate and capital markets, including South Florida. The conference was followed by an animated cocktail on the terrace of 600 Brickell, overlooking the Miami skyline and a fabulous sunset.
